The Apron dress is one of those dresses that has it all! With its pinafore workwear-inspired yet feminine design, straps crossing at back, the back pleat closed with buttons and the large front pockets make this dress both functional and attractive. This class will guide you through each step of the pattern. You'll use our sergers to finish your seams and learn how to install the button hardware of your choice!

All class supplies are available for purchase at Modern Domestic. Please purchase supplies in advance of your class. You are welcome to purchase supplies online and pick up the day of your class, just select NE Alberta Store for pick-up. If you plan to shop in-store for supplies the day of your class, we recommend allowing at least 45 minutes to shop. Please note that our store hours are Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm.

Supply List:

- Apron Dress Pattern Size: XS-L or XL-3XL by The Assembly Line

- Swedish Tracing Paper

Fabric (Recommended: medium weight fabric with width of 55”- 60”)

- Fusible Interfacing

- 1 spool of Mettler Metrosene All-Purpose Polyester Thread (coordinating or color matching recommended)

- Three 15mm snaps, jeans buttons, or sew-in buttons (two needed for the garment, one for practice)

*Make sure to pre-wash your fabric in advance of class. This prevents possible fabric shrinkage that could otherwise make your finished garment too small.

*Skill Level:  Advanced Beginner - You have a good handle on the basics and are ready to dip your toe into more challenging waters. You’re still fairly new to sewing from patterns and could use help with how to manipulate the pattern to get a better fit. You want to add some new skills to your repertoire (invisible zippers, setting-in sleeves, sewing with a serger, etc.). Classes generally require homework.
