Farrow Dress, Lake Oswego Store, Thursdays, August 15, 22, & 28, 6-9pm
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner, Ages 15 and up
The Farrow features an elegant A-line shape with flattering diagonal seaming concealing inseam pockets, and a jewel neckline. Imagine wearing View A during the balmy days of summer. View B features bracelet sleeves and is the perfect option for cooler temperatures in the spring and autumn. In class, you’ll learn how to adjust the pattern to fit your body measurements, and to make tweaks to the neckline and sleeve length. You’ll learn a variety of techniques, including sewing a straight seam, setting sleeves (View B), inseam pockets, applying facings and seam finishing.

What is an “Advanced Beginner” class at Modern Domestic?
You have a good handle on the basics and are ready to dip your toe into more challenging waters. You’re still fairly new to sewing from patterns and could use help with how to manipulate the pattern to get a better fit. You want to add some new skills to your repertoire (invisible zippers, setting-in sleeves, sewing with a serger, etc.). Classes generally require homework.
