Intro to Patchwork: Looper Quilt, Alberta St Store, Mondays, January 6, 13, & 20, 6-8:30pm
Skill Level: Beginner, Ages 15 and up
Learn how to tackle curves! Large blocks and simple strip-piecing make this a fun quilt to explore colors and pattern-play. The modular blocks can be arranged in many different ways to customize your quilt. In this class students will learn the steps necessary to piece the quilt top and will be shown methods for completing the quilt.
Pattern Required: Looper pattern by Miss Make
Fabric (quilting cotton) for Throw Size 60 x60
Fabric 1 = 1/2 yard
Fabric 2 = 1/2 yard
Fabric 3 = 3/8 yard
Fabric 4 = 3/8 yard
Fabric 5 = 1/2 yard
Fabric 6 = 1/2 yard
Background Fabric 2 1/8 yard
1 spool thread (metrosene)--a neutral color to match the background

What is a Beginner-level class at Modern Domestic?
You’ve taken a class or two and are starting to get comfortable with the basics. You know what a seam allowance is, you’ve sewn a little on your own, but you still need a little help with remembering how to thread the machine and wind a bobbin. These classes usually have little if any homework to complete outside of class time. The prerequisite for any Beginner class is a Sew Basics class, Learn to Sew class, or equivalent. This skill level is not for people who have never used a sewing machine before.
