Whether you’re frolicking along the coastline of northern Italy or sunbathing in your backyard, the Vernazza Two Piece will have you feeling glamorous and comfortable. It features tank straps, an adjustable tie front, and a soft waistband. The bottoms hit at about your belly button and can easily be adjusted for a higher or lower rise. This is a simple swimsuit with a lot of style. You’ll learn how to work with knit fabric, adjust the pattern to fit your body measurements, how to create seams on a serger and how to hem on a coverstitch machine.

Supply List:
  • Pattern required: Vernazza Two Piece by Friday Patterns
  • Fabric required for size desired, pre-washed. You can line your bottoms with swimsuit lining or the same fabric you are using for the rest of your suit. If you are not using swimsuit lining, add a half yard to the yardage requirements.
  • Swedish Tracing Paper
  • 4 yards 3/8 wide clear swimwear elastic
  • Double Tracing Wheel

All supplies are available for purchase at Modern Domestic.

Make sure to pre-wash your fabric in advance of class. This prevents possible fabric shrinkage that could otherwise make your finished garment too small.

Please purchase supplies in advance of your class. If you plan to shop for supplies the day of your class we recommend arriving at least 45 minutes early.

What is an “Intermediate” level class at Modern Domestic?
You’re no longer intimidated by the idea of reading a pattern and comfortable reading a pattern and have made a number of projects. You would like to learn different methods of zipper installation or how to alter your patterns. You’re venturing into more complicated patterns (e.g., lined garments, plackets, collars, zippered fly). Classes are faster paced and generally require homework.
