Advanced Beginner: Quilted Stocking, Saturdays & Sunday, November 23rd, 24th, & December 7th, 2:30pm-5pm
Instructor: Courtney Zerizef
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner*, ages 15 and up
Class Length: 3 sessions, 2.5 hrs each session
It’s that time of year! What better way to adorn your fireplace than with a handmade, quilted stocking?
In the class, three patterns will be presented to choose from. Choose your fabrics and colors prior, or wait until class and purchase on the first day after you have seen the variety of options to gather inspiration.
Pattern options that will be given in class include (1) a quaint Christmas tree (pictured), (2) a holiday star (also pictured), or the fly away by Suzy Quilts. Overview and instructions will be provided in class.
Please Note: Sewing homework may be necessary over the two week intermission between the second and third class in order to complete one entire stocking by the end of the course. Depending on level of experience, it is likely possible to complete more than one stocking.
Class 1: Saturday Nov. 23rd
- reviewing pattern options, finding inspiration
- selecting fabrics, cutting and organizing

Class 2: Sunday Nov. 24th

Class 3: Saturday Dec 7th

*Skill Level: Advanced Beginner - You have a good handle on the basics and are ready to dip your toe into more challenging waters. You’re still fairly new to sewing from patterns and could use help with how to manipulate the pattern to get a better fit. You want to add some new skills to your repertoire (invisible zippers, setting-in sleeves, sewing with a serger, etc.). Classes generally require homework.
