Get ready for the Spring with this gorgeous dress! In this three session class, you will learn serger seam finishing techniques, hidden pocket assembly, and more! With the attached lining your garment will look professional and be ready to wear for the upcoming Spring and Summer months!

The Sauvie Sundress is the perfect dress to layer over a t-shirt during the Spring and to wear bare during the hot Portland Summer! The Sauvie Sundress can be anything from a swim cover-up to a casual summer dress to an elegant evening gown depending on your fabric choice.

Teacher Note: Version #1 and #2 is just right for a more beginner sewist, while Version #3 and #4 is perfect if you want to level up your skillset with an added elastic waistband.

Supply List:

Sew House Seven Sauvie Sundress Pattern, available in Size 00-20 or Curvy Fit Size 16-34

 - Fabric required for size and length desired (linen, linen blends, cotton lawn, silk noil, crepe de chine) PLEASE NOTE: Some sizes require 60” wide fabric.

- Swedish Tracing Paper

- Lightweight Fusible Interfacing

- 1 spool of Mettler Metrosene All-Purpose Polyester Thread (coordinating or color matching with exterior fabric is recommended)

- Optional: 1 ½” Wide Elastic

*Make sure to pre-wash your fabric in advance of class. This prevents possible fabric shrinkage that could otherwise make your finished garment too small.

*Skill Level: Advanced Beginner - You have a good handle on the basics and are ready to dip your toe into more challenging waters. You’re still fairly new to sewing from patterns and could use help with how to manipulate the pattern to get a better fit. You want to add some new skills to your repertoire (invisible zippers, setting-in sleeves, sewing with a serger, etc.). Classes generally require homework.
