Supply List:
- Pattern: Skirt No. 1 by Hundred Acts of Sewing
- Fabric: Choose a fabric with a solid or all over print to start. Try beginning with a cotton lawn, plain weave linen, or a wool challis. These are excellent options for your first time sewing a bias garment. When working on the bias for the first time, save stripes and plaids that need to be matched and super slinky fabrics, like silk charmeuse or chiffon for your second make!
- 1 spool of Mettler Metrosene All-Purpose Polyester Thread (fabric matching is recommended)
- Microtex Sewing Needles Variety Pack (Size 70/10 or 60/8 needed)
- ½” elastic (measurement based on waist size)
*Make sure to pre-wash or dry clean your fabric in advance of class. This prevents possible fabric shrinkage that could otherwise make your finished garment too small.
*Skill Level: Beginner and up- You’ve taken a class or two and are starting to get comfortable with the basics. You know what a seam allowance is, you’ve sewn a little on your own, but you still need a little help with remembering how to thread the machine and wind a bobbin. These classes usually have little if any homework to complete outside of class time. The prerequisite for any Beginner class is a Sew Basics class, Learn to Sew class, or equivalent. This skill level is not for people who have never used a sewing machine before.
