CLASS IN SESSION! Garment Lab: Draft Your Own Pant Block, Thursdays, April 11th, 18th, & 25th, 6pm-9pm

Skill Level: Intermediate*, ages 15 and up

Sessions: 3 Sessions, 3 hours per session

Drafting your very own Pants Block is a wonderful step to creating your own patterns. This Garment Lab is perfect for the sewist who is comfortable reading a pattern, has made a number of projects, and is ready to take on the next step by creating their own pants pattern.

In this Lab, you’ll learn how to take detailed body measurements and transfer your unique measurements to drafting paper to create a pants sloper. You’ll then sew your newly designed pants sloper into a muslin, learn how to fit the muslin, and make alterations to your sloper as needed.

Be prepared - purchase your supplies online or in person before class begins! Class supplies are available for purchase at Modern Domestic. To purchase supplies online and pick up the day of your class, just select NE Alberta Store for pick-up. To purchase supplies in store, we recommend allowing at least 45 minutes to shop. Please note that our store hours are Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm. 

Supply List:

- Swedish Tracing Paper

- 4 yards of Muslin

- One spool of Mettler Metrosene All-Purpose Polyester Thread

*Skill Levels: Intermediate - You’re no longer intimidated by the idea of reading a pattern and comfortable reading a pattern and have made a number of projects. You would like to learn different methods of zipper installation or how to alter your patterns. You’re venturing into more complicated patterns (e.g., lined garments, plackets, collars, zippered fly). Classes are faster paced and generally require homework.
