Want to learn how to sew and liven up your space at the same time? This class is for you! You'll learn sewing machine basics, such as winding a bobbin, threading the machine, and using basic construction stitches.
This is the perfect class for a first-time, not-in-a-long-time, and/or beginning sewist, ready to make beautiful and custom home decor projects! In this class you will walk away with a pillow cover designed for an 18x18 pillow form.
Be prepared - purchase your supplies online or in person before class begins! Class supplies are available for purchase at Modern Domestic. Please note that our store hours are Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm. Class supplies cannot be purchased when our shop is closed.
To purchase supplies in store, we recommend allowing at least 45 minutes to shop. Our store hours are Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm. If purchasing materials online, purchase supplies at least two days in advance to allow for prepping. All class supplies purchased at Modern Domestic get a 10% discount - please inquire for the code.
Supply List:
- 1/2 yd Canvas, Twill, or other medium to heavy weight woven fabric (at least 44" wide)
- 1 spool of Mettler Metrosene All-Purpose Polyester Thread (coordinating, matching, or contrasting with fabric is recommended)
- Optional: 18x18 pillow form (Available to purchase in-store, but not needed to complete the pillow cover in class.)
*Skill Level: Learn to Sew - You have never touched a sewing machine before or it has been years since you have. You know very little to nothing about sewing but you are eager to get started.
