Nothing compares to an oversized menswear-inspired shirt when it comes to iconic wardrobe staples, and the Jenna Button-up shirt ticks all the boxes. Perfectly proportioned and loaded with polished and classic shirting details, Jenna features a loose fit, drop shoulder, deep back yoke, chest pocket, traditional shirt collar and collar stand, and a long sleeve with a classic tower placket and cuff. A dream styling piece that pairs with just about everything, Jenna will breathe new life into your closet.

This class will cover shirt construction, focusing on flawless collars and cuffs, along with some fitting alterations and basic serger skills to allow you to create the shirt of your dreams. After this class, these skills are transferable to any other shirt pattern.

Be prepared - purchase your supplies online or in person before class begins! Class supplies are available for purchase at Modern Domestic. Please note that our store hours are Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm. Class supplies cannot be purchased when our shop is closed.

- Jenna Shirt Pattern by Closet Core

- Swedish Tracing Paper 

- Fabric required for desired size, pre-washed* 

- 3 spools of Mettler Metrosene All-Purpose Polyester Thread: 2 in color to match fabric and 1 to match buttons 

- Buttons 

- Shapeflex Interfacing 

- Wash Away Wonder Tape

*Make sure to pre-wash your fabric in advance of class. This prevents possible fabric shrinkage that could otherwise make your finished garment too small.

*Skill Level:  Intermediate - You’re no longer intimidated by the idea of reading a pattern and comfortable reading a pattern and have made a number of projects. You would like to learn different methods of zipper installation or how to alter your patterns. You’re venturing into more complicated patterns (e.g., lined garments, plackets, collars, zippered fly) or more complicated serger techniques. Classes are faster paced and generally require homework.
