Make your own unique socks for you, your family, or friends to enjoy! These socks are a great way to use scraps and perfect for giving! This class is a great first introduction to working with knit fabrics and sergers. Students will learn serger sewing techniques, threading, and walk home with a completed pair of socks.
Be prepared - purchase your supplies online or in person before class begins! Class supplies are available for purchase at Modern Domestic. Please note that our store hours are Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm. Class supplies cannot be purchased when our shop is closed.
To purchase supplies in store, we recommend allowing at least 45 minutes to shop. Our store hours are Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm. If purchasing materials online, purchase supplies at least two days in advance to allow for prepping. All class supplies purchased at Modern Domestic get a 10% discount - please inquire for the code.
Supply List:
- 1/2 Yard Knit Fabric (4 way stretch fabric preferred)*
- 2 Maxi Lock Serger Cones & 1 Maxi Lock Stretch Serger Cone in coordinating thread color
*Make sure to pre-wash your fabric in advance of class. This prevents possible fabric shrinkage that could otherwise make your finished garment too small.
*Skill Level: Beginner Serger - Classes teach a specific skill or type of stitch on a serger. This skill level is for people who have used a sewing machine before and are getting comfortable with the basics, but are new to using a serger! You may have never used a serger, only used a serger once/twice, or it has been years since you have.
