Learn to make this gorgeous quilted scarf with Chloe!  In class you’ll learn to construct a sawtooth star and checkered block, while getting tips on precise points when piecing. The scarf is turned and knotted, so you’ll learn techniques for turning and tying a quilt or a scarf in this case! 

Plan for a small amount of  homework between classes in order to finish within the two class sessions. You always have access to our studio, if you don’t have all the tool and sewing set-up in your own home. 

Be prepared - purchase your supplies online or in person before your class begins! Class supplies are available for purchase at Modern Domestic. Please note that our store hours are Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm & Sunday, 11am-4pm. Class supplies cannot be purchased when our shop is closed. 

To purchase supplies in store, we recommend allowing at least 45 minutes to shop. If purchasing materials online, purchase supplies at least two days in advance to allow for prepping. All class supplies purchased at Modern Domestic get a 10% discount - please inquire for the code. 

Supply List:

- Main Fabrics: 3/4 yard each of two light to midweight wovens

-accent fabrics: 1/8 yard each of two light to midweight wovens

-5/8 yard backing fabric

-3/8 yard lightweight batting (request weight dream cotton or bamboo silk blend)

-1 matching spool of small mettler metrosene

-1 matching sashiko thread

Skill Level: Beginner- You’ve taken a class or two and are starting to get comfortable with the basics. You know what a seam allowance is, you’ve sewn a little on your own, but you still need a little help with remembering how to thread the machine and wind a bobbin. These classes usually have little if any homework to complete outside of class time. The prerequisite for any Beginner class is a Sew Basics class, Learn to Sew class, or equivalent. This skill level is not for people who have never used a sewing machine before.

Class Cancellation Policy: A cancellation more than 72 hours before a class start date receives a full refund or credit. A cancellation within 72 hours is non-refundable. No-shows forfeit any refund or exchange. We hold this class cancellation policy to ensure our teachers are compensated for their time, and other students waiting for spots in full classes are not missing class opportunities due to late cancellations.  Thank you for your understanding.
