Garment Lab: Guided Work Session, Tuesday, October 27th, 6pm-9pm

Skill Level: All Levels (Beginner & above), ages 16 and up

Sessions: 1 Session, 3 hours per session 

Whether you have or haven’t worked in our wonderful Sewing Studio with our incredible Garment Instructor - Colleen - this one session Garment Lab is here to help you with your garment making woes! It’s the perfect three hour session to support you to the finish!

This work session is designed for sewists of varying skill levels to troubleshoot your sewing challenges (at most 8 students).  Bring your project at any point in your process, especially if you need an instructor's guidance on specific techniques and/or skills that are challenging you! 

Colleen’s expertise can help you understand pattern instructions, talk through your garment-making questions, and receive real-time support on tricky garment construction elements. You'll have access to our classroom BERNINA sewing machines, sergers, and receive the support you need to make your projects reality. 

This lab is great for a confident beginner, a more advanced sewist, or someone in-between! Please Note: There will be times during the session without one-on-one guidance given the open sewing format. 

Be prepared - purchase your supplies online or in person before class begins! Class supplies are available for purchase at Modern Domestic. Please note that our store hours are Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm & Sunday, 11am-4pm. Class supplies cannot be purchased when our shop is closed. 

To purchase supplies in store, we recommend allowing at least 45 minutes to shop. If purchasing materials online, please purchase supplies at least two days in advance to allow for prepping. All class supplies purchased at Modern Domestic get a 10% discount - please inquire for the code.

- All fabric, thread, and other notions needed for your project. 

*Skill Levels: All Levels (Beginner and above) - Beginner - You’ve taken a class or two and are starting to get comfortable with the basics. You know what a seam allowance is, you’ve sewn a little on your own, but you still need a little help with remembering how to thread the machine and wind a bobbin. These classes usually have little if any homework to complete outside of class time. The prerequisite for any Beginner class is a Sew Basics class, Learn to Sew class, or equivalent. This skill level is not for people who have never used a sewing machine before.

Modern Domestic Labs: You're interested in sewing in a group setting and prefer to have an instructor's guidance on specific techniques and/or skills that are proposed in the Lab's topic. You have the ability to sew at your own pace, the expert help to keep you on track and sewing along, and a variety of options (sometimes endless!) when it comes to choosing the project you want to sew.

Class Cancellation Policy: A cancellation more than 72 hours before a class start date receives a full refund or credit. A cancellation within 72 hours is non-refundable. No-shows forfeit any refund or exchange. We hold this class cancellation policy to ensure our teachers are compensated for their time, and other students waiting for spots in full classes are not missing class opportunities due to late cancellations.  Thank you for your understanding.
