With five distinct views, Azure is a mini wardrobe in one tidy package! With a dress and skirt in two lengths and a separate sleeveless top, you'll love mixing and matching pieces. The Azure bodice is semi-fitted with a jewel neckline and button closure in the back; it can be lined or finished with an all-in-one facing. The skirt is striking with alternating diagonal gathered panels and can be worn on its own or integrated into a breezy tiered dress.

You can choose which view you’d like to complete. The first session focuses on fitting, measuring body dimensions, choosing pattern size, pattern tracing, and fabric cutting. The next sessions, you'll receive one-on-one and small group instructional support, based on you and your classmates' needs to complete one of the pattern views. 

Homework will likely be needed - depending on your sewing speed and complexity of garment - to complete the garment within the three sessions. All students have complimentary use of our Open Sew hours to work on homework during the class, and up to thirty days after class ends. 

Be prepared - purchase your supplies online or in person before class begins! Class supplies are available for purchase at Modern Domestic. Please note that our store hours are Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm. Class supplies cannot be purchased when our shop is closed. 

To purchase supplies in store, we recommend allowing at least 45 minutes to shop. Our store hours are Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm. If purchasing materials online, purchase supplies at least two days in advance to allow for prepping. All class supplies purchased at Modern Domestic get a 10% discount - please inquire for the code.

- 1 spool of Mettler Metrosene All-Purpose Polyester Thread

- All Other Notions (noted on your pattern) 

*Make sure to pre-wash your fabric in advance of class. This prevents possible fabric shrinkage that could otherwise make your finished garment too small.

Skill Level:  Advanced Beginner - You have a good handle on the basics and are ready to dip your toe into more challenging waters. You’re still fairly new to sewing from patterns and could use help with how to manipulate the pattern to get a better fit. You want to add some new skills to your repertoire (invisible zippers, setting-in sleeves, etc.) and want to have an option to use a serger for finishing techniques. Classes generally require homework.
